Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
TAYU Films is a one-person business run by me, Taewoo, in Langley, BC. This policy follows British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). In short:
- I tell you why I collect your information.
- I only collect what I need.
- I keep it secure.
- I’ll show, correct or delete it when you ask.
What I collect and why
When you send an inquiry
What: what you type into the form: your names, email, date, city or venue, guest count, your message and how you found me.
Why: to reply to you and plan your booking.
Where it goes: Web3Forms delivers the form to hello@tayufilms.ca, which Porkbun forwards to my Gmail inbox. I keep a simple list of inquiries in Google Sheets.
How long: if you don’t book, I delete it 12 months after we were last in touch.
When you book
What and how long:
- Contract, invoices and payment records: kept for 6 years, for tax purposes.
- Your contact details and our emails about your film: kept for 2 years after your film is delivered.
- Raw footage and project files: kept for 6 months after delivery.
Why: to plan and film your day, deliver your film, and keep the records the tax rules require.
When you enter the Love Story Project
What: what you type into the entry form at tayufilms.ca/story: your names, email, the city you live in, where you’d like the film made, your date and plans if you share them, your story, how you heard about it, and your answers to the consent boxes.
Why: to run the contest as described in the official rules, contact the chosen couples, and, only if you ticked the optional box, send you occasional emails.
Where it goes: the same way as an inquiry: Web3Forms, then Porkbun forwarding to my Gmail inbox, and my list in Google Sheets.
How long: until the project ends (February 15, 2027), plus 12 months.
I only send occasional emails about TAYU Films to people who ticked the optional box on the Love Story Project entry form, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Otherwise I only write to you to answer your inquiry, about your entry, or about your booking.
Your film and my portfolio
I only show your film, stills or voice clips on this website or on social media with your written consent. Guests, and children in particular, are only shown with the appropriate consent. Anyone who appears in a clip can ask me to take it down, and I will.
Cookies and storage
This site doesn’t set cookies of its own. Cloudflare Web Analytics, which I use to count visits, doesn’t use cookies. The films play through Cloudflare Stream, and the player only loads after you press play.
Your browser’s own storage keeps two small things on your device: one item remembers whether you closed the announcement bar, and your name is held briefly so the thank-you page can greet you after you send the form (it’s cleared when you close the tab). Neither is sent to me.
Service providers and storage outside Canada
These services handle information for me:
- Web3Forms delivers the inquiry form to my email.
- Porkbun forwards email sent to hello@tayufilms.ca to my inbox.
- Google holds our emails (Gmail), my client list (Google Sheets) and consultation bookings (Google Calendar).
- SignWell handles contracts, and Wave handles invoices, if you book.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and the films (Cloudflare Stream), and provides the visit counts.
Your information may be processed or stored outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
When I disclose information
Apart from the service providers above, I only disclose your personal information when the law requires it. I never sell it.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, such as keeping it in password-protected accounts. No system is completely secure, so I only keep what I need, for as long as I need it.
Links to other sites
This site links to other sites, such as Instagram. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, correct it, withdraw your consent, or have it deleted where I’m not legally required to keep it. Just email hello@tayufilms.ca.
If we can’t resolve your concern, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
